Park national souss Massa

The tour commences with a hotel pickup in Agadir or Taghazoute at 8 in the morning, followed by a scenic 40-minute drive to Souss Massa National Park.

Established in 1991 across an area of 33,800 hectares, the park aims to restore Saharan fauna in southern Morocco. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the natural trail of Oued Souss and the Oued Massa Visitor Center.

Oued Massa retains water year-round, hosting marbled ducks, while the glossy ibis utilizes this site as a breeding ground, making it a unique location in Morocco.

Both estuaries are vital for migratory birds, especially waders and gulls. The park also conducts captive breeding programs for endangered North African ungulate species, including the scimitar-horned oryx, addax, dama gazelle, and dorcas gazelle, housed in separate enclosures within the park.

Additionally, ongoing efforts are in place for the reintroduction of the North African ostrich, extinct north of the Sahara. Before embarking on exploration, a visit to the park’s museum is scheduled to learn about the numerous endangered species living there.
